in continuing on with things that i have read since doing this blog... there is ducks.

holy handgranade. this was an account of her time working in the oil sands in alberta. what made her go there, paying off debt, and the various challenges and people she faced while she was there.

whenever i come across stories of sexual abuse like this i'm always dumbfounded and so disheartened that this sort of thing exists.

sure we can say it happened in the early 2000's but, lets be real. people are still plenty creepy to other people.

we need to be most accepting. we need to be more empathetic.

we need to not destroy the environment in order to get a disposable resource that we deem as super important for us to just live. or to travel around.

this graphic novel was. just beautiful. it was sad and disgusting. and it felt so real.

it was so so beautiful.

so worth a find and a read.

i'm sorry to all the people that have had to work there for the years and years that it's been in operation, and then i'm also sorry to the individuals that have had health outcomes becuase of it as well.

i know it's not the most useful, but it's what little i can do right now.
