this is a self help... book.
i say it like that because it's also a memoir of the individual writing it... and i liked the memoir of his life so far? it talks about several hard parts he's lived through and how his life has evolved slowly over time.
really in the last few years since covid. has he started on this project and it's been a pretty good project it seems.
the book is split into three parts, and mostly i suppose i care about the third part, because that's where he talks about ten different attributes where we can impact our current lives to make them happier.
they are all things i've been working on for a while, but they are all things that people should be doing... and that's not an easy thing to do, as he says plenty of times throughout the section, and the rest of the book.
those things are:
- breathe work
- meditation
- movement
- spend time in nature
- communicate and connect
- use phone less, learn more
- grattitude
- eat whole foods
- recovery
- sleep
all simple things which a bunch of people have heard plenty of times over and over to do... and yet we still struggle to do these things.
they mention that in the book as well. it's not about being perfect... it's about showing up. just trying to do them.
sometimes we are to busy or forget to.
but the more we can make these things an unconcious habit, like brushing teeth/flossing/eating
the more we can slowly improve our lives.
i believe this whole heartedly.
i think it's worthwhile to do.
i try to incorporate these aspects because i can see that it makes me feel better the more that i can do, and the more regularly that i can do them.
it's been a long journey for me working on my mental health, and it's something i will continue to work on for the next life time of mine.
i hope that you can work on your mental health as well as everything else going on in your lives as well.
thanks for reading.
